Introducing our ladies ministry blog. Kimberly Hemric shares her heart through a video blog and written blogs helping encourage the women of the church to be all that God created them to be.
A little more about Kimberly:
My husband says when we started dating I wouldn’t eat or talk in front of people…boy, 20+ years later, have times changed! I used to be an introvert. But God in His wisdom had this introvert to marry an above average extrovert – so now I love nothing more than to encourage, inspire, and impel others forward in their walk with Christ. It’s been said that I’m a spirited Sunday school teacher and Ladies Conference speaker. (I think it was a compliment!) I’m attracted to people of all walks of life, and am routinely reminded that the ground is level at the foot of the Cross!
I am the adoring wife to minister and pianist husband, Danny. We have three fur kids (a dog, and 2 cats) and three God-sons. We are very blessed to have invitations and opportunities to travel from Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia, South Carolina, and Georgia singing and preaching (He does the preaching not me – although he said once that I do my preaching in the car. Haha!) We provide ‘special music’ for church events such as jubilees, revivals, and old-fashioned Camp Meetings.
I am working on completing two devotional books in 2014. I will have a Cornerstone of Strength series for women, families, and teens as God provides the words.
More Things I Enjoy in Life
Laughing — Follow my laugh board in Pinterest® if you can! It’s called Let’s Laugh! Good; clean humor is a daily necessity for me. Growing up I loved watching shows like The Jefferson’s, Andy Griffith, The Brady Bunch, Good Times, (Dynooomite!) and Little House on the Prairie. I wore pig tails like Laura Ingalls much longer than I should have. I now drink hot cocoa and iced tea out of a tin cup like Laura and Mary used to have…it makes me smile every time! (It’s the little things!)
Cooking — I’m not a trained chef or professional cook by any means, but I love to watch the cooking shows and I routinely make goodies with carbs! And butter. And cream cheese. I’m a southern cook y’all. Most things seem pretty delicious, but I am now famous (or infamous) for serving a “greasy” chocolate cake to my family. It is a reminder to check and recheck dates on ingredients. Gluten-free is supposed to be my new best friend per my doctor, so will definitely been an ongoing challenge.
Serving — My life is blessed – God has been incredibly good to me. I know you can probably say the same thing! I’m a nurse and I work in Long Term Care. I love it when I feel like God has used me to be able to help someone else. I think it’s vital to have a servant’s heart. I fully praise God for the wonderful life He’s given me, but it hasn’t always been wonderful. I believe we all go through trials – for a reason – whether we understand that reason or not. The Word teaches us that we need valleys – that’s where the Living Water is! “In the valley, He restoreth my soul.” There have been enough health struggles, rejections, hurts, and drama sprinkled throughout my life to keep me reminded of two things…Foremost, that my best is as filthy rags – that it’s not about me or anything I do, but it’s about HIM. And secondly, my trials have served their purpose: to keep me prayerful and humble. God has used them to help me keep my heart and eyes looking UP toward Jesus. “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and life up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” Luke 21:28 (KJV)
I end all of my blogs in, “Look UP my friends!”
